The beloved live music venue is producing the goods this lockdown.
Prahran’s Chapel Off Chapel have been doing it tough as a result of the COVID-19 venue shutdowns. The last physical events at the venue came in the form of their hugely-successful Chapel Summer Sessions events which featured performances from the likes of Thando, Bobby Alu, Kyle Lionhart, Jess & Matt and more.
As they continue to navigate the current period, Chapel Off Chapel have been finding ways of adapting and evolving, whether they’ve been streaming iconic shows from the past, hosting interactive talks or presenting their own Friday night variety show.
Kicking off on October 9, the first instalment of Friday Nightcaps at Chapel saw the likes of Tash York, Reece Mastin and comedian Joel Salom appear as part of a new virtual extravaganza hosted by the fantastic Fem Belling alongside unmatched cabaret queen Dolly Diamond. Broadcasted via Zoom, Friday Nightcaps is a effervescent concoction of live music, comedy, cabaret and other special surprises.
The following Friday, the likes of Nazeem Hussain, Erik The Dog, Yana Alana and Jess & Matt joined Belling on the show and Friday Nightcaps has another two events to come on Fridays October 23 and October 30.
On October 23, Chapel Off Chapel will welcome Thando, John O’Hara, Robert Tripolino and Shep Huntly with Ash Grunwald and Dom Chambers set to appear for Friday Nightcaps‘ final hurrah on October 30. There are more special acts set to be announced as well.
Friday Nightcaps at Chapel takes place on Fridays October 23 and October 30 via Zoom. Grab your tix here.
