Bringing Santa to you this Christmas.
After what’s been an incredibly difficult year for us all, Christmas is arriving at just the perfect time. Families will reunite, friends will reconvene, and Australians will be able to experience the feeling of celebration once again, after so many months of monotony and despair.
While Christmas will be more significant than ever in 2020, there are still some aspects of the occasion that will be a little different. For one, the present-buying tradition leading up to December 25 will roll out a little differently. With social distancing protocols in place, many shoppers are expected to stay away from shopping centres this Christmas and instead find alternative ways to purchase their Xmas gifts.
This means many families and children will miss the much-anticipated Christmas tradition of meeting Santa. To make up for this, Cadbury is bringing Santa to you with its ‘Live Santa’ experience.
In a world first for the iconic chocolate brand, Cadbury will take its adored 2D Santa character and bring him to life in 3D via Facebook Live.
But will that mean we can’t engage with Santa, asking him questions and wondering whether we’ve been good or bad this year? Well, Cadbury has already figured out that conundrum – using the latest technologies in virtual production and motion capture, Australians will be able to interact with Cadbury’s Live Santa in real life, receiving an immediate response to their Christmas-related questions.
What’s more, Cadbury’s 3D Santa is no character-less robot – using the same technology seen in Hollywood feature films, Live Santa will be brought to life by a trained actor skilled in imitating Santa’s facial expressions, movements and voice.
Get around Cadbury Live Santa from 6pm AEDT on Thursday December 10 via the Cadbury Dairy Milk Facebook page.
